Biography: Dr. Goñi has a Master’s degree in Horticulture (2011) and a doctoral degree in Agricultural Sciences (2013), both from the Agricultural College of UNMDP. Currently, she is an Assistant Researcher in the Food Engineering Research Group of the Chemistry and Food Engineering Department of the Engineering College, in Mar del Plata National University (UNMDP, Argentina) since 2015. She is also an Assistant teacher in the same college since 2007. Her research interests are focused in finding early-intervention-strategies that are environmentally friendly and compatible with organic produce, to assure safety of horticultural crops while improving their nutritional and functional quality. She mostly works with leafy vegetables and edible sprouts. Some of the early strategies studied include: essential oils, chitosan, different sources of biotic or abiotic stress during preharvest and/or in combination with postharvest preservation technologies.
