Research Interest: Dr. Muhammad Kafeel Ahmad Ansari's recent research focus on the Cyanobacterial Biotechnology (i.e. application of cyanobacteral laccase for synthetic toxic dyes decolorization and also evaluate its anti-cancer activity). He has also more than Ten years of research/teaching experience in Phytormediation, Plant Stress Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology and Environmental Biotechnology.
Biography: Dr. MKA Ansari was appointed as an Endeavour Awards Ambassador, Government of Australia. Ansari received an internationally competitive, prestigious Australian Research Award, Government of Australia, for his work in the area of developing environmentally friendly green technology (Phytoremediation). He worked as Visiting Scientist at the CERAR, UniSA, Australia. He is a recipient of the Foreign Citizens Research Award, Government of Turkey and worked at the Department of Biology, AU, Turkey. Subsequently, he was also conferred with prominent Kothari Research Award, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to work at the Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, where he has purified and characterized Cyanobacterial laccase enzyme. In recent past, he experimented to develop stress-tolerant plants together with modulation of antioxidant defence system in plants against abiotic stress, and the phytoremediation potential of mustard genotypes and some crop plants.
