Research Interests: Dr. Yanxiong Pan's research interest includes ? Investigated structure, conformational dynamics and relative orientation of the enzymes in crowded and confined environment based on nanoparticle, polymer and metal organic framework (MOF) materials using bioanalytical chemistry and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, ? Improved the shape recovery stress and mechanical properties of smart shape memory polymers (SMPs) or created new polymer/polymer blends with shape-memory effect and self-healing functionality via covalent and non-covalent bond, ? Designed and synthesized novel hydrophobic and hydrophilic polyvinyl alcohol formaldehyde (PVF) sponge with controllable pore size distribution and crosslinking degree to reveal the structure-function relationship between the composition-hole structure-surface properties-absorption ability.

Biography: Dr. Yanxiong Pan is currently working as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND. Dr. Yanxiong Pan completed his Ph.D degree from Polymer Physics and Chemistry, Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun, China, May 2014 and continued to work as Research Assistant, Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun, China from 2006-2014 and as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Institute of Textiles & Clothing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China.
