Abstract:

The One Belt One Road is an ambitious initiative by China that seeks to link under developed, developing and developed markets under one equitable trade platform. The One Belt One Road initiative can help Ukraine and other Eastern European countries revitalise their economies by opening new markets and reducing the cost of basic import products. The initiative is supported by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) which to date has 47 countries as its signatories, including the UK which defied the US demands to join the AIIB.
