Successful Rearing Procedure of Pink Bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella) on Alternate Host (Okra)
Abstract:
Pink Bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella) belongs to family Gelechiidae of order Lepidoptera. It is one of the major pests of cotton and cause up to 20% yield loss. It is native pest of Asia but now it has spread to all over the world where cotton is grown. It is very difficult to control this pest as its larva remains inside the bolls and insecticide cannot reach there. Its attack results in and overall poor quality of the cotton crop due to staining of the lint.
