Abstract:
Peace and Good governance are two concepts that define the nature and kind of government of a state. This is because a state or country without peace or good governance is mostly likely to be autocratic, volatile and crises ridden. In trying to avert the dangers associating with lack of peace and good governance, government at all levels are encouraged to take proactive measures towards providing workable solutions to these problems. It is against this premise that peace and good governance assumed a theatrical art usually performed on a stage by actors and actresses so as to mimic or showcase where the government needs improvement. Therefore, Nigerian government over the last 5 and half decades have witnessed crises of different magnitudes arising from lack of peace and good governance. However, scholars and policy-makers alike have suggested Democratic practices as a sure-way to averting the troubles of bad government without actually unpecking the weightier challengs of structural defects of Nigerian society. It is against this background that this study sets to establish the nexus between peace and good governance with regards to how contemporary actors theatrically mimic government that lacks peace and good governance.
