Research Interests: solubility/dissolution rate improvement and controlled delivery of poorly water-soluble drugs through nano and micro-particle and amorphous solid dispersion technology.
Biography: Dr. Jim Huang is Founder and CEO of Ascendia Pharmaceuticals North Brunswick, NJ. He obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. His Master of Science in Pharmaceutics from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.
His publications include studies on drug solubilization and controlled delivery in polymeric solid dispersion systems, amorphous drug delivery systems, controlled release, modeling and simulation, thermal and spectroscopic characterization of amorphous molecular dispersion, drug-polymer interactions and its significance on physical stability of amorphous drug, and micro/nano particulate dosage forms for use in parenteral routs, etc. He credits several publications at peer-reviewed international journals, presentations at international pharmaceutical conference, and patent publications. He has been invited to serve as a reviewer for Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, International of Pharmaceutics, Journal of Controlled Release, Drug development and Industrial Pharmacy, PDA Journal of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Molecular Pharmaceutics, and Pharmaceutical Research. Currently, he is a member of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and American Chemical Society (ACS).
