Biography: Reza Shadnam serves as Manager- Science with KPMG in R&D Incentives practice, and an integral member of KPMGTax service line in Canada. An experienced management consulting professional and strategic problem solver with Engineering Management background and over 8 years’ experience across a variety of industry verticals including Oil & Gas, Power, Manufacturing, Technology, and Finance.Reza has experience identifying, assessing and addressing R&D project management/finance and scientific/technological risks in R&D process and R&D project management. Reza’s engagements have focused on private sector organizations seeking to evaluate and finance their R&D. To-date he has been / is directly involved with qualifying over $130 M worth of support for projects in Canada– including projects in mining, power generation, transportation (railway), oil & gas, manufacturing and environmental assessment (site remediation). An experienced facilitator, Reza has led R&Ds and senior executives through numerous financing and roadmap development sessions. He has delivered results for clients capitalizing on new growth opportunities - and those overcoming challenges - using data-based methodologies.
In research organizations Reza has worked for 21 years contributing to civil, mechanical, chemical engineering, mining, power generation, heavy equipment, energy transportation, and energy generation industrial and infrastructure projects / programs. His expertise includes project management/governance, risk management, engineering and basic sciences, and workshop facilitation. Expert in monitoring, execution, and control of the work in an integrated setup. He also worked as a consultant and science teacher, and served as a Policy Advisor to the Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents. Currently with KPMG Reza is leading / engaged on a number of similar R&D project advisory/finance/ controls engagements for domestic & international projects.
