Research Interests: Design and synthesis of organic compounds of potential biological activities. Prodrug approaches as a tool for enhancing drug properties. Studying the principles of structure elucidation using different spectroscopic data especially modern NMR techniques, IR spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry. Computer based drug design including the pharmacophore and structure based designs.
Biography: I am a medicinal chemist and pharmacist, I enjoy mixing chemicals and making new architecturally interesting molecules. I became interested in medicinal chemistry because there we design, synthesize and do biological evaluation of small molecules as lead compounds. In M.Sc, the focus of my attention at that moment is in the synthesis of new coumarin-chalcone derivatives/ nitric oxide donor hybrids with potential antibacterial and antiproliferative activities. While in Ph.D, I was concerned with design and synthesis of novel 1,2,4-triazole derivatives and their nitric oxide donor analogues as potential anticancer agents. Five publications around these points were published in good impact factor journal. So in future I have be interested in design and synthesis of new hybrids between triazole and different molecules to get new compounds with potential anticancer, antibacterial and anti-fungal activities.
