Abstract:

Effective practical implementation of precision-medicine initiative needs that corresponding precision drugs are developed and made commercially available and accessible.  However, not enough is known about diseases to generate “intelligent”, effective precision drugs that would be effective, cure diseases and have little or no side effects. To this end, more cooperation and partnerships between various parties involved in drug-development process focused on validated biological mechanisms of disease, are needed. Not an “artificial intelligence” but factual knowledge supported by “intelligent” computers to analyze huge volumes of data in aid of reaching correct conclusions need to support this effort.
