Biography: Dr. Machhi is an Instructor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed his education from the reputed institutes of the India include Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Sardar Pater University, Master of Pharmacy from the Gujarat Technological University and Ph.D. from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He also served as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Machhi is a highly experienced and dedicated professional with eight years of research experience in pharmacology, neuroimmunology and neurodegenerartive diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Also experienced in studying HIV pathogenesis and antiretroviral drug biodistribution up to cellular level. Currently working on development of T cell immune therapies for the potential treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Also developing next-generation mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease using CRISPR-Cas9 technology.
