Research Interests: Investigate self-healing of cementitious materials Develop constitutive equations of fresh mortar/concrete for describing the flow of freshly mixed cementitious materials from dry to high fluidity. Investigation of the inter-relations between rheological properties of fresh concrete and placement / consolidation conditions on the properties of hardened concrete. Study the freeze-thaw and scaling durability of concrete and masonry and develop a test method for evaluating their susceptibility to freeze – thaw durability. Develop models to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. Development of 3-D thermo-hygric-stress mathematical models for studying the effects of mass transport phenomena (air, moisture and salts) in porous media on the durability /service life of concrete structures.
